Too Much Information With Little or No Wisdom August 16, 2010

With too many social network, twitting, vying for the attention of internet users, is there knowledge from this multitude of reading materials.
Everyone wants a piece of the action. Suddenly, most online users is a critic or an expert. Often, their experience is enough to judge any events that need elaborating and mention it in vulgar ways. Very few sites offer valuable information and if your unlucky, some websites are traps. Linking you to a loop of website junks that is either porno sites or junk webs. We rely on information base on gossip, fraud, edited photos, baseless commentaries and other junks that has no foundations. All of this because of freedom of speech.
We replace libraries with online materials, making learning, a new version couch potato, technology style. This is not the way knowledge should be spread.
President Noy Aquino First Good Points in 5 Days July 5, 2010

Reacting late on our historical event but everyone have something to say but I salute the 15′th President, Mr Noynoy Aquino for his “wang wang” order cruising the metro road. Its an existing law pr0hibiting ordinary vehicles to be wired with sirens designed for the active police, emergency units but in the land of guns and goons, the “elite” can get away with it. The police and law enforcers reacted accordingly which to every public disappointment is late. But better be late than never and all those caught in the road either get a ticket or have explaining to do.
I hope this goes on even after he end his term as President of the Philippines and once again, I salute you Mister President.
Spratley update and the new Club-K system from Russia not Love April 28, 2010

Yesterday I thought of my defunct comics in the 90′s about the Spratley islands in the South China Seas. many claimants and the most diplomatic is the Philippines. Since we can not defend it with weapons, letter of protest is the best thing without guns. But what surprised me is the military budgets of our Asian neighbors. Vietnam just purchased KILO type subs and SU30 for air support. The Philippine Air Force lost its only fighter, an aging F5, through low maintenance back in the 2005 September and it saddened me. I could imagine the lone F5 battling Suckois like space invaders and the attacker are as dumb wit like the arcade game. But this is just preparation. And I’m just checking the latest Spratley gossip.
Today, Lifehacker just took a peek about the Russian Club-K system. The above weapons are Russian alright. But this is one is like, just like the comment in Lifehacker, is like Command and Conquer stuff but in reality, is a weapon ready for delivery anywhere and will strike with little or no warning. The idea is true. I remember the US AEGIS destroyer in Yemen hit by a suicide boat ride with Osama markings on the attack. It was succesful. It prove how creative an attack is with human ingenuity while the US technology didn’t sniff the attack and the PHALANX CIWS didn’t burb out Depleted Uranium rounds on the boat.
If such system be present in the South China Sea and the Chinese with its “pirated copy” nature enterprise, its a bet that a clone system is in the making. I guess the Philippines will just used old pen is better than the sword. But there’s nothing wrong having a sword first then write it on paper.
Home Schooling: Solution to Philippine Education April 27, 2010

Debate on whether we change the schedules of kids going to school from the regular June month or “wet season”. Or the Summer season, away from rains and floods. Neither season is good. We know the wet season downside but changing it to a summer school year is no better as it will further raise electrical bills and not to mention, unbearable heat from the hellish traffic in the metro road.
I suggest one alternative, Home School Programs. Check the advantages of this home based learning.
- VERY ECONOMICAL.
- No uniforms and School/Bus service.
- No school supplies and bags.
- Meals are home cooked (no separate menu for lunch and school bullies to take their food).
- No School Bullies. Self explanatory.
- No unwanted school activities and idle times.
- Kids have time to play and socialize.
- Safety at comfort of their homes.
- Parents can watch their progress.
- NO FRATERNITIES (many kids die from hazing).
- Kids can sleep further. No worry early worms.
- Please add if you have something further.
Disadvantage(s):
#1. Career Parents have no time for their children.
Two Philippine heroes comes to mind when I thought about it. Dr. Jose Rizal and Andres Bonifacio. Dr Rizal was first taught by his mother and was his foundation for his success as a doctor and hero of our nation. Andres Bonifacio, was a self taught person, would later lead the nation and to become the father of the Philippine Revolt against a colonial Spain which ruled the island for 400 plus years.
I asked an OJT her tuition fee in a Manila University for 1 semester. Php30,000.00. For two Sems, thats Php 60k plus a possible 10% per anum increase and computed this for 14 years. My son is on his second grade this SY2010 so his freshman in college could be Php 140,xxx.xx. I could save more if kids could school at home and have his weekly and monthly test, then not only I but many families could save a lot of money and away from school politics and gangs that could hinder the growth of the youth.
Learning is important. Actually I learned a lot from watching TV programs like Sesame Street and The Electric Company plus other shows on regular channels without cables. With low rates of internet connection and computers, we could maximize learning at the comforts of our homes and both parents and kids will benefit from it especially if one of the parents, I prefer moms, would leave work and watch the children grow.
I remember once an office event on mother’s day. A mom’s wish. If she could go back in time to see her children grow. You could feel that she was successful in her work, but never in her home. I’m glad I love weekends and my wife is watching my kid. Its fun, chaotic and have time for my son and wife. Not busy otherwise like others who brings work at home 24/7.
EARTH DAY Fails. No Rock Music Please. April 26, 2010

Awareness is not just wearing designer cloths, have rock bands to send messages or get naked to tell people don’t wear fur. This recycle gimmick is being done for years and still, the environment and the species is dying a slow death and I don’t like the idea of a desert earth on a last ditch novel crusade to replenish it with a seed of hope and a liter of Perrier H2O.
Two events early 2010 are EARTH HOUR and EARTH DAY. This events cost money. Not to mention the trash it leaves after the music ended. But the message is a just song to sing. Many radical revolutions took place on this planet for the last 5 decades and still the evil persist. We thought the earth will be annihilated by retaliation of cold war survivor bombers. But it didn’t happen. Instead, the planet will be dead by business corporates who cuts forest trees and replaced it with synthetic biospheres for rich people houses, golf courses or production and research labs.
The smog sky. Here in the metro of our 7100+ island, bikers are lobbying for bike lanes to promote cleaner airs. But the roads are filled with private cars and worst, multiple franchise of buses with drivers from Hades asking for death race out of your fares. Because of less vegetation here in the Metro, temperatures are inhuman. I lived in an urban area 40 km away from Manila but I have trouble making my plants survive because of less rain during the rainy season.
The best thing I saw was fireflies. Hundreds or even thousands of them during the wet season. Sometimes, they slip in to our room and always watch them freely. A joyful sight. I teach my son to enjoy nature as it is but not in a cage. Seeing fireflies brings joy. A friend told me that they exist if the air quality is still good. I don’t smoke so I know how good air is. But in the morning, a kilometer away, I see smogs. Like smoke from a tall funnel only this comes from vehicles.
Like it or not, soon, all the best thing nature can provide will either be replicas and pictures. I feel sorry for the next generation because the sins of our fathers failed their revolution of change because of they only loved the music and the promise of orgy wild sex.
Voice Command: How to kill a Touch Phone April 23, 2010
Posted by moskitobytes in Technology.add a comment
My first encounter with touch screen technology was in a mall seeing a kiosk back in the 1990′s. We thought it was a special equipment only to find it was just an ordinary PC (maybe a 386 to 486 processor) when the technician is fixing it. When the iPhone took the stage, the touch screen tech become an overnight success. But I still believe in something to push with not touch is better.
Trend setters, especially in the technology side, could be the new thing or the next orphan idea to be adopted by bigger companies that exploits its short comings. A company name Transmeta made the Blade Servers but IBM and HP have profited on the idea and somehow, Transmeta has lost ground on that side of the business side. Sometimes a technology maybe way ahead of it era and may not be adopted ahead. Touch Screens was that technology and it could only be launch by a company known for its cool concepts. Although I’m not a fan of Mr Jobs, he revolutionize the way we do with technology and the worst thing he did was—tell everyone, you need his toys.
The worst thing about “make dust or eat dust” trends is everyone wants the piece of the economy. Soon derivatives from other companies, including pirated versions, started rolling in factory lines making big money even if its just less than the performance of a true touch screen experience. But why follow or copy there style. Why not used an already popular technology born from the fantasies of StarTrek or home tech designs even undriven BMWs, Volks to park without you on the seats.
Voice Command. I mean, why not just talk on the gadget. Isn’t it nice to tell the lights to lit up. Or open your TV set and change channel, increase the volume or turn that jazz tone with the lights to dim a bit in your living room. It a cooler technology than moist your screen where possible scratches can ruin the glass or better yet, it if cracked, would render your gadget useless.
The worst thing Steve Jobs do now, is read my blog and have an idea of it.
Enjoy.
ERAP 2010: The Return of the President King April 13, 2010

For the first time, I’ll choose this guy I’ve always skipped for the past elections. People have misunderstood Joseph “Erap” Ejercito as a returning corrupt leader that couldn’t get enough from his past misdoing.
There is enough circulating emails in our office about presidentiables and seeing Erap’s credit is far from good. Its better. And the only down side is he collected money from gambling. Money that is not taxpayers money and unlike the regular corrupt, spent too much of my taxes in his/hers heart desires.
Erap is backed by audit facts and interviews from TVs debates would always agree about it. The problem in the Philippines are the Elitist. These same Elitist elevated the most unpopular President in Philippine history, Mrs Macapagal. daughter of a previous President before President Marcos.
Two of the best stand Erap did in his short term was ceasing doubtful procurement of none existing Power Plants that are fraud prone and reclaiming land in Mindanao are Muslim camps which trained infamous Islamic groups that attack 9-11. This two problem were born under Ramos Administration. The power plants can be half good but the Mindanao Camps, especially camp Abubakar, is not you ordinary peaceful military camp. During the 90′s peace pack, which is an ambitious attempt of Ramos to get a noble peace price, numerous news of soldiers were not able to defend back from insurgents because they were told to hold fire. The insurgent, back by this deadly peace treaty, can freely shoot at our poor government soldiers. When Erap step in, all out war to rebels who don’t like peace. In a long bloody fight, Philippine Soldiers and Philippine pride was raise as the colour of the Philippine Flag wave freely in a land protected by a bogus peace treaty.
When GMA was president, the land was return back to the insurgents and there was an uproar included a general shouting to a congressman saying “you were not there”. The price of peace in the hands of a corrupt leaders are like the false prophet warned by the Lord Christ who promise false prosperity and too good to be true ideals.
Erap is like the father of the first Philippine Revolution Andres Bonifacio. The fathers of the same elitist was at the beginning and want to secure their interest. These elitist denied Bonifacio a seat in the Philippine Republic because he has no college/academic degree except a self educated person. Erap was not like Villar who tell people, his being poor in question, lived in poverty. Erap was rich alright but was PRO poor. He is known by people as being a good friend, comrade, which gave to his petname erap which spell backward “pare” meaning a street word for friend (or your son’s godfather in a formal way).
I won’t go for Aquino not Villar. Aquino is backed by the elitist which is his only gray area.
Villar, a lier and during his congress days is an absent leader. Villar’s last senate scandal just prove to show that he don’t wanted to be investigated. Villar didn’t respect the process of justice and what he does, he explained to the public not in the proper forum.
People don’t like idiots like Erap to be back in the office. But this same idiot, with his political background and true love for the common mass is what this nation need. With him around, all those jokes will again erupt and everyone loves a good laugh.
The return of the King, 2010.
G1Race: test boardgame March 1, 2010

Just made this boardgame concept for my son we won’t get bored this summer. Nope, he don’t have those game console that you never get satisfied with. He is more to LEGO’s, drawings, and watching airplanes specially the movie Red Barron, which was only viewed in Germany in 2008.
He is computerate alright and love drawing in MSPaint just like his dad, therefore, I made this boardgame with Paint, save as JPG.
You may try the game and you can add features to it. I hope to hear from you if you have any comment. For the record, this game is for kids but I see it can be upgraded to any age.
Enjoy.
Solar Power Plants not SM malls to save us from this energy crisis. February 18, 2010

El Niño 2010. Not that we’re waiting for y2k of 2012 but the heat is here and we’re not harvesting a clean energy that oil companies wants to kill. During summer in the island Philippines, electricity bills may also soar up due to extend use of freon aircon units since hydro-based generator plants have no water to turn turbines and even water level may be a bit low (and smelly).
The Sun. its up there yet we can’t harvest the energy potentials of it. I just watch this NatGeo on Nevada-one plant that runs on Solar Energy and even supplies power even at night (you can’t have sunlight 24 hrs right but they got it working even without the sun).
Here we have a solution. No one is trying it and no business venture won’t dare try them. It maybe expensive to build but the long term supply of the Sun, estimated another billions of years to exist and exceed earth’s life, is a clean choice. Maybe just using the sun’s power might help heal the earth’s pollution problem and reduce dependencies on oil and coal altogether.
We may dry up oil reserves or level a mountain of coal but the Sun, its will out last to billion life years. Somehow I wish I was a multi-billionaire and make solar plants than shopping malls.
Abstinence, the solution to the food crisis. February 8, 2010

Here in the Philippines, sugar crisis due to increase demand, resulted to high cost of food especially bread. News agency said weeks ago there is no crisis and the reason for rising prices is to “counter” or “anticipate” the world price of sugar. Somehow I get lost on all those economic analysis but here on earth, I can translate that to a simple word, bondage or hard-times.
Surprisingly even with this crisis, people here are not bothered with the high cost as long this little inconvenience in budget is manageable in some way to coupe with this problem. The cause of the problem is very obvious and the solution is simple. DON”T EAT TOO MUCH. All of those sweet product: soft drinks, pastries, chocolates, dairies have sugar. The more we indulge on this food, demands for sugar will increases and sooner or later, farmlands that produce sugarcane will deplete.
It is still true that the earth can sustain the demand of the human need IF and ONLY IF, we could manage it fairly and accordingly. But rich nations and developing ones are in the race of obesity. And satisfaction is in short of supply. Its all about, too much. The world “mindset” advocates that you need this and this and wants is disguised as needs.
If we cut our take on soft drinks, cigarettes, hamburgers, rice meals and so on, by abstaining from too much of it, we could control this crisis and somehow build personal economic relief and save money for everyone’s future. But as always, we always remedy this problem a little bit too late.
The bible warns of such things. The book of Revelation, one of the four horsemen, tells us of a crisis. Chapter6…” 5When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say,”Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. 6Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “A quart[a] of wheat for a day’s wages,[b] and three quarts of barley for a day’s wages,[c] and do not damage the oil and the wine!”.
Some how we connect this biblical prophecy like any doomsday hollywood date movie. But I tell you, its not. Its real and its closer than we think.
